International Money Transfers
You can transfer money to your Bank Leumi account from anywhere in the world using the SWIFT system.
In accordance with new regulation requirements, as of January 1, 2018, any transfer originating from outside Israel must include information about the parties to the transaction, as detailed below:
- Information on the sender abroad - sender’s name, account number and address.
- Recipient’s information at Leumi - customer’s name and Leumi account number.
A transfer missing one or more of the abovementioned details - shall not be accepted by Leumi and may force Leumi to return funds to the sender.
Additionally, incoming transfers should include an account number in IBAN format i.e. in ILxx010XXX00000YYYYYYYY** format:
- Bank name: BANK LEUMI LE ISRAEL B.M.
- Leumi's Swift code: LUMIILITXXX
Please ensure that any such transfer includes the complete information, including an IBAN account number.
For your convenience, you can locate your IBAN foreign currency account number on any credit memo in respect of foreign currency received in your account from overseas and from local banks.
Please note that occasionally the IBAN number in the foreign currency account can be different from the IBAN number in the NIS account. In the event that the proceeds are credited to your NIS account, please include the NIS IBAN account number, which can be located by signing in to your account on the website, under the tab: Confirmation of Account Ownership
If you have any questions, please contact your Leumi branch.
