The Banker declares: Leumi - "Bank of the Year in Israel"

December 8, 2019

Bank Leumi has been awarded “Bank of the Year in Israel for 2019" by the prestigious “The Banker” magazine, part of the Financial Times Group. This is the second consecutive year Leumi has won the distinguished title, and the fifth time in the past decade. Leumi was selected by a professional panel of judges who examined the Bank's financial results, business achievements, investment in technology and overall strategy.

John Everington, Middle East & Africa editor at The Banker, said: "In a competitive field, Bank Leumi was Israel's standout lender for the second year running. In addition to a solid financial performance, Bank Leumi impressed the judges with its commitment to digital innovation, as demonstrated by the growth of its VIDEA robo-advisory service, and its participation in the Global Alliance Fintech Link"..

Hanan Friedman, Bank Leumi President & CEO: "We are truly honored by this great recognition. Leumi's success is mainly attributed to our vision - staying one step ahead of our competitors and constantly challenging ourselves by adapting our operating model to the ever-changing needs of our customers in the digital era. A great example is the recent establishment of our new "Data Division", a first-of-its-kind in Israeli banking, which was created with the aim of leveraging Leumi's data assets in order to enhance our data-driven offerings and provide our customers with the best value proposition".
