Secret Art 7 Exhibition
This was the seventh year of "Secret Art", a unique Leumi exhibition which, in keeping with tradition, the artist behind each work was kept secret until the end of the exhibition. This year, the works dealt with issues related to the city of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, and they were displayed alongside the exhibition to mark the "90 year anniversary of the central branch in Tel Aviv".
"Secret Art" is based on the artistic format of the Royal Academy of London and exhibits 150 works - some by promising artists at the start of their career, others by well-known veteran artists. So that visitors will view the works with impartial eyes and focus on the works themselves, the names of the artists are not exposed during the exhibition. This also gives all artists an equal opportunity to sell their work.
All works in the exhibition were for sale, with all the proceeds going directly to the artists.
Each work had a starting price, and all bids had to be above it. The work wiwas sold to the highest bidder. If there were two or more bids in the same amount, the work was sold to the first bid that was accepted.
In keeping with the tradition of “Secret Art” this year we also put together an exhibition for you, with works of leading artists, promising young artists alongside veteran established artists, with one secret: the name of the artist.
Beit Mani – Leumi, 34 Yehuda Halevi St., Tel Aviv
The exhibition was held between the dates of January 15, 2013-January 24, 2013.
