Leumi Maintains its Position in Maala Index’s Highest Rating -The Platinum Plus Ranking

In the Maala Index for Corporate Responsibility, published on June 10, 2013, Leumi received the Platinum Plus Ranking, with a performance score of 97% in the areas examined, and is in the highest decile. The Platinum Plus ranking is a significant accomplishment that reflects the resources invested and the ongoing commitment of Leumi to managing this function.

 

Maala operates as a business network (non-profit) of some 120 of the largest companies in Israel for developing corporate responsibility.

 

Every year, Maala publishes the Maala Ranking and the Maala Corporate Responsibility Index on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The Maala Ranking gives large companies tools for managing and assimilating areas of corporate responsibility. The ranking facilitates an annual assessment, mapping gaps and setting targets for improvement in relation to standard norms in Israel. The ranking is on a voluntary basis, with participating companies electing to disclose and report information on their own accord and without any legal requirement. 

 

The 2013 Maala Ranking includes 82 participating firms, with a total turnover of NIS 331 billion, representing 63% of Israel's business GDP. The aggregate number of employees of all companies rated is 199,460 employees, representing 10% of all employees in the business sector.

 

The ranking focuses on six ways in which a positive impact can be made on society and the environment: investing in employees, workforce diversity, contributing and volunteering, savings in electricity, water, gas, waste and wastewater, ensuring proper management, and increasing transparency.
