Leumi is currently completing the deployment of a wireless Internet network in 50 of its branches throughout Israel. This service, which is being offered to the bank's customers as a part of Leumi's service perception, enables customers using laptop, palm computers or advanced cellular telephones free access to the web while visiting the branches.
Customers will be able to login to websites, receive and read e-mail messages and access relevant information on transactions in their bank accounts etc.
Customer surfing is enabled via an especially constructed portal. Connectivity is via a wireless communications card installed as a standard feature in laptop computers and is not subject to inserting a password. The branches' connection to the web is executed though a unique broad band infrastructure.
