Leumi is “Bank of the Year in Israel for 2007” according to the banking magazine "The Banker's"
The international banking magazine "The Banker" from the Financial Times Group, has chosen Leumi as “Israel's 2007 Bank of the Year.”
The prize award ceremony for the 146 winning banks throughout the world, was held in London on November 28. Mr. Mickey Friedman, Leumi Britain CEO received the prize on Leumi's behalf.
Inter alia, the magazine specified the fact that Leumi presented the highest earnings in the history of Israeli banking, its impressive international operation expansion and its capital market achievements as reasons for selecting the bank.
The Banker’s Bank of the Year award is considered one of the most prestigious prizes in the international banking world. The winning bank in each country is determined on the basis of processing the data received from banks throughout the world and crosschecking them against data in the magazine's internal information reservoir. Data for selecting the bank of the year are comprehensive and include all the data that contribute to the banks performances and/or that create competitive advantages for the bank. In addition to the business results, issues such as the bank's strategy, growth directions, initiative for improving returns, investments in high-tech etc. are also examined. The winning bank in each country is determined on the basis of processing and weighing the data.
