Leumi Accessible ATM Machines

Support for the Visually Impaired
Voice Instructions and Information

Most Leumi branches across the country now comprise ATMs which are equipped with a uniquely advanced audio system specifically intended for aiding the visually impaired. The system is the first of its kind in Israel and is based on the TTS (Text-to-Speech) voice engine, which transfers text to speech in real time.

Unlike older systems, which offered pre-recorded instructions and interface menus, the new system 'reads' all the information presented on the screen, including the specific, up-to-the-minute  account details requested by the customer.  Voice instructions  allow for a longer response time for account transactions, as required.

Accessible ATMs are fitted with a standard earphone jack for use of the specialized audio system.

User Interface The ATM user interface has been updated to current accessibility standards, offering a clearer display with the required contrast levels.
Adjustable Brightness/Contrast Customers can adjust the ATM screen's brightness, based on the surrounding light levels, so that the text can be brighter at midday, and less so in the evening.
Adapted Keypad The ATM's keypad is designed in accordance with international accessibility standards with symbols that allow the visually impaired to recognize the keys.
Banknote Layout Banknotes issuing from the ATM are arranged in such a way as to make them easily identifiable by the visually impaired.
STEPHERE Most of the ATM devices are equipped with signage and voice instructions.
Braille Labels and Signage The bank card slot and banknote withdrawal slot have been labeled with Braille stickers.
