Leumi CEO announced today the establishment of the Digital Banking Division:
"We are going to change the face of banking in Israel and implement a brand new method of banking, based on the most advanced digital innovation in the world, so that our customers can enjoy transparent and accessible banking, at the most attractive price"

For the first time in Israel and in parallel with the world's leading banks, Leumi President and CEO, Rakefet Russak Aminoach, announced today the establishment of the Digital Banking Division. Tamar Yassur, currently Head of Retail Banking Division, will be appointed as Head of Digital Banking Division; in addition, Danny Cohen, currently Head of Human Resources Division, will be appointed as Head of Retail Banking Division. The changes will take effect on January 1, 2016, the date of the establishment of the new Digital Banking Division.

In recent years, in accordance with its strategic plan, Leumi has undertaken a series of moves to prepare and adapt the Bank to the new era of banking. Within a short period of time, Leumi conquered the digital banking scene in Israel and is today the most advanced bank in the Israeli banking system. At the same time, the Bank has developed a series of breakthrough products and services, based on advanced technologies. Thanks to this strategy, there has been a marked increase in the number of customers using digital channels and in the number of operations performed through digital channels. Today, approximately 62% of the Bank’s customers use digital channels to carry out their banking operations, with approximately 52% of banking operations carried out through digital channels.

The dynamic business environment has a great impact on the business models of the banking system in Israel and worldwide. With the establishment of the new Digital Banking Division, Leumi’s management is leading a change in the Bank's operating model, and adapting it to the patterns of customer behavior in the current digital era. Over the last two years, Leumi has studied and learned the different models used around the world, and is now heading towards the next level.

The Digital Banking Division will manage the operations of the Digital Bank, to be set up during 2016, and will lead and implement the world's most advanced digital innovation, across all lines of business at the Leumi Group. In addition, the division will be responsible for the 'Leumi Card' credit card company, Leumi's Marketing Department, Business Development Department, and the Group's Big Data activities.
