The influential financial magazine, Global Finance, has selected Leumi as the leading bank in social media in the Middle East and Africa, for the 2012 year. Leumi’s achievement in the competition was based on the strength and success of the products and services it provides to its online customers via social media.
Leumi’s activity on social networks is extensive and productive and began in 2009, when Leumi became Israel’s first bank to enter the social network arena with its launch of "Leumi Blog", a blog website for Leumi executives designed to expand the dialogue with Leumi customers and site surfers. Since this time, the blog has accumulated 304,000 visits and published 460 posts to date
Additionally, the Bank operates "Leumi Twitter", enabling surfers to keep up to date and real time in banking innovations, the "Leumi on Facebook" page which has amassed over 88,000 fans to date, and "Leumi Buzzer", a Facebook club for youths, offering a dynamic range of benefits in the shopping and entertainment worlds.
Global Finance is an influential and highly-regarded international financial publication, containing analyst reports, financial news, and economic reviews as a source of information in 192 countries worldwide. The magazine annually ranks financial institutions around the world in many categories, and sets a standard of excellence in its ranking. The award will be presented to Leumi representatives in November 2012 at a ceremony in New York.
